The Book of Shardtron, is a sonic novel about a dark and enchanting crystalline world, featuring beats of underground artists and producers.
The Shardtronian world is as dangerous and dark as it is decadent and glittering. A combination of the organically faceted and the unnaturally angular. it is a place of beauty, the ancient and the advanced morphing into one another, never quite separating but never really fully in sync either. We the Shardtron collective are attempting to capture this struggle piece by piece.

Chapter one, was produced by JK Jr. (John Kang)
JK JR, a collective of pseudonyms and memories portrayed through the emotional controls of music, John Kang brings forth a robotic structure yet emotional feel to music through haunting melodies, nostalgia induced chords, and sets a tone for anyone to simply listen and get lost in a dreamy sequence.
Originally from Nashville, John Kang grew up surrounded by music and was forced by his parents to practice the piano and violin daily. John quickly became a success in the baroque/classical spectrum of performance and was offered to attend David Lipscomb University on a full ride for performance. John declined the offer and began collecting various synths and loop pedals to create lo-fi/electronic music during his college stay in Knoxville.
John soon moved to Chicago, where he began working under the name John Benet, and started to DJ at various clubs that enabled him to begin developing his own style which mainly was influenced by the Chicago house movement and French Touch sound. Through this new adoration of filters and funk, he began creating house tracks under the moniker Cosmo Brown.
Utilizing Traktor and Ableton to produce and perform music, JK JR was created; to bring all of John's influences and passions together.
JK Jr wanted to interpret Chapter 1 through melancholic synths, a heavy bassline and robotic vocals; to allow the listener to visualize and interpret a sense of passing.
