The Book of Shardtron, is a sonic novel about a dark and enchanting crystalline world, featuring beats of underground artists and producers.
The Shardtronian world is as dangerous and dark as it is decadent and glittering. A combination of the organically faceted and the unnaturally angular. it is a place of beauty, the ancient and the advanced morphing into one another, never quite separating but never really fully in sync either. We the Shardtron collective are attempting to capture this struggle piece by piece.
Chapter 8: Obsidian Serpents, was composed by matloc (Matthew Lockdall)

Sound Artist
Inspired by the power of the deciduous forests in the midwest. with an interst in weaving together sounds and feelings into a kind of patchy quilt. using all sources of sound as a material for creating poetic structures and relationships of color and texture. In an attempt to dig deeper into the language of recorded sound productions.
With Chapter 8, matloc wanted to create the different textures that come to mind with the objects; obsidian stone, serpents and caves. With these textures he intends to create a dark environment, where a traveler might encounter a powerful force, a dire and compelling moment, which can lead to a strong introspective awakening.
