The Book of Shardtron, is a sonic novel about a dark and enchanting crystalline world, featuring beats of underground artists and producers.
The Shardtronian world is as dangerous and dark as it is decadent and glittering. A combination of the organically faceted and the unnaturally angular. it is a place of beauty, the ancient and the advanced morphing into one another, never quite separating but never really fully in sync either. We the Shardtron collective are attempting to capture this struggle piece by piece.

Fascinated by sounds and rhythms both electronic and organic, Sam Mewton, aka Toa, attempts to blur the lines that separate them in contemporary music. Through experimentation with the manipulation and resampling of his recorded sounds (including field recordings, live instrumentation, percussion, etc.) Toa has found solace in building compositions that shift and evolve through seemingly natural patterns. In the 7th chapter of The Book of Shardtron, "Dark Waters in a Bright Passage", Toa creates an evolving space for our listeners to travel through. Through pulsing chords, shimmering synths, and waves of bass, Toa juxtaposes the light of the passage with the murkiness of the waters below.
